Proverbs 1:5
Proverbs has been my go-to book of devotions for years. In between other Bible studies, after times of dryness and complacency, and during seasons of pain and suffering, the proverbs of God have helped me grow closer to Him AND to my family. Throughout this month, I would like to share with other women what He has revealed to me. (Sorry, men, I will be speaking to the heart and role of women within the church, though some posts will not be gender-specific. Jim will write a blog series to men later this year). I invite your thoughts and comments.
Proverbs 1
Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance
Proverbs 1:5 ESV
Women, how often do we try to do it all? (Whatever our personal all is) We put intense pressure on our ourselves to know it all and do it all. However, God says that we need to hear Him and increase in our knowledge of Him through studies and leaders as well as to receive guidance for going through our daily lives. We are not expected by the Lord to do it all. We are expected to love Him and love those He has placed in our lives. We get caught into the minutiae of life and forget to dwell in His presence, allowing Him to direct our daily interactions. Let’s devote this month to dwelling on His word and guidance.
