Proverbs 13:11
Proverbs 13
Wealth obtained by fraud dwindles, But the one who gathers by labor increases it.
Proverbs 13:11 NASB

Ladies, let’s focus on the second half of that verse. How often do our kids talk about becoming a millionaire and what they will do with their money? If we are honest with ourselves, how often do we hope for money just to be there when we need, or the dishes to just be done, or for the kids to be able to get that math concept without any further input from us? The reality is that as sinful, fallen creatures, we want the easy way. God admonishes us in numerous places in His word to keep on working, keep on laboring, because the increase we wish to see—a concept learned, a clean house, weight lost, a hurting relationship healed, and more—the increase we wish to see will take time, effort, struggles, tears, and prayers. We will be exhausted, we will be inadequate, we will be knocked around by sins of ourselves and others, yet God will be there with us and give us strength as we labor for His good purposes.
